What Is The

Cardboard Project?

Unique, artistic exhibit that features a collection of 100+ written experiences by Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) residents. On Saturday, May 14, 2022, the Cardboard Project 4.0 will be set up in person at the Creekside Recreation Community Centre.

The event will consist of a Talk Show featuring 3 ETE Entrepreneurs, live performances, and an art gallery displaying the cardboard responses.

Barbara Gastelum

Barbara Gastelum helps those who are interested in alternatives to talk therapy and wanting to explore the richness of self-exploration to connect your senses and imagination.

Julie Melanie Ruiz

Julie Melanie is the creative mind and nurturing soul behind Enviro Bag Evolution. A trained seamstress, Julie Melanie creates hand-made storage bags for disabled people who use a variety of mobility aids.

Yvonne Mark

Yvonne Mark is the captivating voice of “Salmon Soup for the Soul,” a collection of stories on recovery in the Downtown Eastside. As a self-taught writer, Yvonne documents her journey to sobriety with strength and resilience.
