Employ to Empower (ETE) supports residents in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community by providing access to development and entrepreneurial resources. Our resources include affordable microloans and business mentorship, with the goal of having a long-term impact on our members’ personal and economic well being. We also actively advocate for creating positive social change in the DTES.

We’re keen to build a group of compassionate and talented individuals to support our growth and expanding community of entrepreneurs through our digital and online channels!

Title Description: Digital Marketing Specialist
Reporting To: Amanda Mah, Marketing Coordinator
Location: Virtual

Commitment: 10 months, with the possibility of extending the term

Position Summary

There are many things happening behind the scenes at Employ to Empower– the Marketing Team’s role is to share our story and grow our connections with donors, volunteers and followers through our social media channels and other platforms. Building on your personal strengths, this role involves content creation, social media marketing, website management, search engine optimization and copywriting in a collaborative environment. Our marketing team is evolving to accommodate for growing programs and capacity! We are looking for flexible, creative, passionate and collaborative individuals to grow our engagement and curate the Employ to Empower’s online narrative.

Key Accountabilities

*Work closely with the marketing lead, as a self-driven and collaborative team player.
*Execute marketing campaigns and create content that engages community, encourages social change and upholds the values of Employ to Empower.
*Attend marketing team meetings virtually every 1-2 weeks.
*Develop an understanding of Employ to Empower mission, values and operations.

Qualifications

*Experience with WordPress and strong writing skills rooted in empathetic communication.
*1+ years of experience in social media marketing and ad development.
*Knowledge of SEO and marketing analytics.
*Open to remote and virtual collaboration.
*Adobe Indesign and Photoshop experience are assets.
*Compassionate and cares deeply for the DTES community along with experience volunteering/working in the DTES as an asset.
*Diligent problem solver, who is looking to learn and help where possible
*Keen desire to be a part of something great that positively impacts society especially in times of crisis

Education

Must be enrolled in post-secondary education and have completed, or be in the process of completing, a degree related to Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Marketing and/or Counselling.
