Organization Overview
Employ to Empower (ETE) supports residents in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community by providing access to development and entrepreneurial resources. Our resources include affordable microloans and business mentorship, with the goal of having a long-term impact on our members’ personal and economic well being. We also actively advocate for creating positive social change in the DTES.
Position Description
Title Description: Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
Reporting To: Christina Wong, Executive Director
Location: Virtual and in person
Desired Start Date: Mar 1, 2022
Commitment: 12 months with the possibility of extending the term
Position Type: 10 hours per week (Honorarium: $500/mo)
Position Summary
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator focuses on
1. Volunteer recruitment, stewardship and onboarding
Volunteers are core anchors of Employ to Empower’s sustainability. You will be connecting with all program leads to understand their volunteer needs and be responsible for sourcing and interviewing volunteers. Once hired, the program leads will take care of the onboarding.
You will have creative freedom to devise a recruitment plan at our signature events to recruit volunteers.
In addition, you will be responsible for designing a volunteer stewardship and retention strategy for existing and new volunteers.
